There was a certain magic in the air at the Bears’ Den on Friday, Feb. 23.  Maybe it was the Peewee B Bears in attendance, maybe it was the many families with their kids, or maybe it was just the good mood all around. In any case, the Smiths Falls Bears delivered a solid 4-0 win against the Navan Grads.

In honour of the accomplishments of the Pee Wee Bears with the Chevrolet Good Deeds Cup, the Junior A Bears hosted the young players prior to the game for the national anthem.

On the game go underway, Alex DiCarlo didn’t take long to start the scoring action with the first goal coming at 5.36 in the first period, with an assist by Michael Larose.

At 3.21 in the second period, Ethan Coltart scored a powerplay goal, assisted by Marc Shannon and Hunter Garlasco. Kris Lalonde, assisted Garlasco and Ryan Gibson, followed with the next goal at 10.33.

The only goal of the third period was a powerplay goal scored by Scott Gervais at the 9.38 mark, assisted by Shannon and Kyle Dowdall.

First star of the game went to goalie Bradley Dobson, second star to DiCarlo, and third star to Alexandre Way ‘A’ (NAV).

The Bears outshot the Navan Grads 51 to 18.
