OCT 10 | Rockland 2 Smiths Falls 3
A fast paced 1st and 2nd period, with both teams getting offensive chances and good defensive plays, would lead to neither team able to find the back of the net. The story of the first 40 minutes was both teams goaltenders standing tall for their teams. In the 3rd period the Bears would open the scoring when captain Trevor Faucher would find the back of the net on a shorthanded snipe. The Nationals would find the back of the net on the powerplay moments later when their captain Xavier Laurent would pick up a rebound and score to make it 1-1. A few moments and penalties later Alex Mcintosh of the Bears would take the 2-1 lead after a nifty shot off an offensive zone face-off that would beat the Nationals goaltender high glove. But with time winding down the Nationals captain would take matters into his own hands once again as he would find the back of the net with under a minute to go in the game to tie it at 2 a piece heading to OT. OT saw the play going back and forth before Travis Ouellette would break in on offence and put a rebound off the pads of the Rockland Nationals goaltender for Tyson Parker to pick up the goal and the 2 points. Nationals Goalie Patrick Charrette would finish with 29 saves while The Bears Dawson Labre would pick up the win with 27 saves.
