Bears Lose 7-2 in Carleton Place

It was a quick turnaround for the Bears who played in Pembroke Sunday night before having to face the 4 time league champion Carleton Place Canadians. The effort and compete was there from the Bears but the result was not as Carleton Place won 7-2.

The Bears were dominated in the first period as they w ere out shot 19-4 and outscored 2-0. Rookie netminder Kyle Renaud was very good in the Bears net.

The Bears played much better in the 2nd period but gave up 3 goals in a 4 minute span before Mitchell Larabie broke the goose egg with his 14th goal of the year on a power play.. Ethan Coltart & Brett Humberstone  drew the assists. The Bears were out shot 16-10 in the middle stanza.

The Bears were out shot 13-10 in the 3rd period and outscored 2-1 as Matty Franche scored his 3rd of the season, assisted by Humberstone.

Nathaniel Watson (Westport Rideaus) played his 2nd CCHL game while Hayden Hart dropped back to defense to help out the injury riddled blue line.

The Bears were out shot 48-24 for the game.

Brett Humberstone was selected as the game’s 3rd star.
