BEARS OFFENSIVE LEADER TYSON PARKER COMMITS TO NCAA POWERHOUSE UTICA UNIVERSITY

SMITHS FALLS, ON – The Smiths Falls Bears, alongside the Central Canada Hockey League (CCHL), are proud to announce that veteran forward Tyson Parker has officially committed to the Utica University Pioneers for the 2026-27 season.

Parker, a 2005-born native of Nepean, ON, is currently putting together one of the most dominant offensive campaigns in the league. Now in his third full season with the Bears, the dynamic playmaker has exploded for 46 points (12G, 34A) in just 31 games. This production places him fourth in overall CCHL scoring among active players, cementing his status as one of the premier offensive threats in Junior A hockey.

“Tyson has been an elite contributor for us since day one, but his growth this season has been exceptional,” said the Smiths Falls Bears assistant coach Josh Filoso. “His vision and ability to generate offense are at an NCAA level right now. Utica is a top-tier program with a massive following, and we know Tyson will be a fan favorite there just as he is here in Smiths Falls.”

Joining the Pioneer Legacy

By committing to Utica University, located in Utica, NY, Parker joins a perennial NCAA Division III powerhouse. The Pioneers are famous for leading the nation in attendance and consistently ranking in the Top 15 nationally.

The Pioneers’ style of play—fast, high-scoring, and aggressive—perfectly mirrors the skill set Parker has honed over his three seasons in the CCHL. His 34 assists this season demonstrate an elite level of playmaking that is expected to translate immediately to the collegiate ranks.

A Cornerstone of the Bears’ Success

Parker’s commitment is a major highlight for the Bears’ organization, showcasing the club’s ability to develop high-end scoring talent. As a three-year veteran, Parker has served as a leader in the locker room and a primary engine for the Bears’ power play.

The Smiths Falls Bears congratulate Tyson and the Parker family on this incredible achievement. We look forward to seeing Tyson lead our offensive charge through the remainder of the 2025-26 season before he makes the jump to the Pioneers.
