The Smiths Falls Bears, like everyone else in Smiths Falls, are extremely proud of the Smiths Falls Peewee Bears. The Peewee Bears are finalists for the Chevrolet Good Deeds Cup.
The Jr. A Bears were thrilled to accept an invite to play the Peewee Bears at the Gerry Lowe Rink of Dreams as part of the Smiths Falls Winter Carnival.
The teams were split into Team Yellow/White & Team Black.
The Peewee Bears were thrilled to use the Bears locker room for the big game.
The fun game turned serious and featured a spirited bout that Bears Matty Franche lost in convincing fashion.
Hot dogs, cupcakes & hot chocolates were available to players and fans alike.
The Bears Alex DiCarlo multi-tasked by playing & eating hot dogs at the same time.
The teams were thrilled to play before an enthusiastic crowd on a pleasant February day.
Team Black roared out to an early lead, but Team Yellow/White never quit.
At the end of regulation the score was tied 12-12.
A shootout was required and it took a 4th round before Team Yellow/White secured a 13-12 win.
Thank you to the Peewee Bears for the invitation, some in the crowd felt the big Bears had as much fun, at least they ate as many hotdogs and cupcakes!
