Neil Doef And His Princeton Tigers Win the ECAC Championship

Smiths Falls native Neil Doef is enjoying his freshman year at Princeton University. The former Bear is working hard at his studies as well as contributing to the men’s hockey team. The team, led by head coach Ron Fogarty, have included Neil in all team activities. This past weekend Neil and the team were in Lake Placid New York to participate in the ECAC championships. Princeton beat Cornell & Clarkson to win the title and move on to the NCAA playoffs.

Neil was a standout with his hometown Bears over 2 seasons before his injury at the World Junior A Challenge ended his playing career. Neil scored 32 goals and 53 assists in 94 CCHL games. Neil was drafted in the 3rd round of the OHL draft by the Mississauga Steelheads but chose to attend Princeton University.

Congratulations to Neil and his Tiger teammates and good luck as they advance in the NCAA playoffs.
