Shannon's hat trick helped the Bears crush the 73's 6-1

Marc Shannon led the way with a hat trick as the Smiths Falls Bears crushed the Kemptville 73's 6-1 in a home game at North Grenville Municipal Centre in Smiths Falls. What's more, the Smiths Falls Bears' offense had a big night, peppering the 73's with 42 shots throughout the game. The Smiths Falls Bears took the lead early in the second on a goal from Marc Shannon.

Ethan Coltart contributed with 2 points (1 goal, 1 assist) and Matthieu Franche chipped in with 2 assists.

In the first, Shannon opened the scoring for the Bears with a goal at 3:38 with helpers from teammates Larose and Franche. Frazee answered for the 73’s with a goal at 10:12 with helpers from Thousand and Bertrand.

During the second period, Shannon answered for Smiths Falls with what turned out to be the game winning goal at 0:28 with assists from Franche and Dicarlo.

In the third, Coltart scored a goal at 7:29 with a helper from Garlasco. Bohemier deposited a goal at 16:05 with assists from his linemates, Lalonde and Garlasco. Shannon quickly followed with a goal at 17:56 with helpers from Humberstone and Coltart. Crump quickly followed with a goal at 18:41 with assists from Bygrave and Humberstone.

Smiths Falls’ victory was in no doubt helped out by Dobson as he stopped 11 of the 12 shots he faced. Dobson’s counterpart, Lukenda, also had a big night, managing to stop 36 of 42, but ultimately fell short.

This win brings the Smiths Falls Bears’ record to (9-14-2-1).
