SMITHS FALLS, ON – The Smiths Falls Bears Junior A Hockey Club is proud to announce the recipients of the 2025-26 team player awards. Following a season characterized by grit, development, and community spirit, the organization took the opportunity to recognize the individual achievements of the athletes who excelled both on and off the ice.
Leading the honors this year is forward Tyson Parker, who has been named the Team MVP and Top Forward. Parker’s offensive production and leadership were cornerstones of the Bears’ strategy throughout the campaign. His ability to perform in high-pressure situations earned him the respect of his teammates and opponents across the CCHL.
On the blue line, DJ Ott has been awarded Top Defenceman. Ott’s defensive reliability, physical presence, and transition play provided the Bears with a stabilizing force in their own zone. His commitment to the “team-first” mentality was a key factor in the squad’s defensive success this year.
The Fan Favorite Award was presented to Jackson Heron. This award, which highlights the connection between the team and the local community, recognizes Heron’s high-energy style of play and his consistent engagement with the Bears’ loyal supporters at the Memorial Centre Arena.
“These awards represent the hard work and dedication our players put in every single day,” said the Bears’ coaching staff. “While hockey is a team sport, it is important to celebrate the individual milestones and the character these young men bring to our locker room and the town of Smiths Falls.”
The Smiths Falls Bears organization would like to thank its volunteers, sponsors, and the best fans in the league for another memorable regular season. Bring on the playoffs!
