Some days one wishes to have just stayed in bed instead of even trying. That’s how the Smiths Falls Bears must have felt after Tuesday night’s game, having received a brutal 1-8 hammering at the hands of the Brockville Braves.

It didn’t even start out all that bad. Brockville’s Eric Holland scored the opening goal at the 7.21 mark, the only goal of the first period, both teams played an evenly matched game during that period.

The second period spelled doom, when Brockville scored six more goals in succession (Hawkins, Locatelli, Halle, Jefferson, McMahon, Gilmour). Bradley Dobson replaced Kyle Renaud at the net at the 9.53 mark, but didn’t fare any better.

Renaud went back to tend the net for the third period. The Bears saved face with Adam Church’s third period goal at 4.17 with assists by Ethan Coltart and Alex DiCarlo. The final goal of the game was by Brockville’s Simon Mack, bringing the total to 1-8. The Braves out shot the Bears 42-24.

First star went to Zac McMahon (BRO), Second Star to Eric Holland (BRO), and Third Star to Marc Shannon (SFB).
