The Bears defeat the Junior Senators 5-4

The Smiths Falls Bears' offense had a big night, peppering the Ottawa Junior Senators with 27 shots throughout the game. The Smiths Falls Bears took the lead before the halfway point in the third on a goal from Alex Dicarlo.

Zack Pilon did his part, adding 2 points (1 goal, 1 assist) and Alex Dicarlo delivered for his team with 2 points (1 goal, 1 assist).

In the first period, Boulerice opened the scoring for Ottawa with a goal at 12:35 with helpers from his linemates, Hatto and Walsh. Palmer deposited a goal at 17:24 with helpers from teammates Smart and Renzi. Warywoda quickly followed with a goal at 18:28 with assists from his linemates, Todd and Richardson.

During the second, Todd put in a goal at 0:35 with helpers from Pilon and Warywoda. Cole answered for Ottawa with a goal at 6:45 with assists from Turner and Caruso. Pilon answered for the Bears with a goal at 9:44 with helpers from Frenkel and White.

In the third period, Todd scored a goal at 1:32 with assists from his linemates, Dicarlo and Warywoda. Rowe answered for the Junior Senators with a goal at 7:26 with helpers from Piche and Remer. Dicarlo answered for the Bears with what turned out to be the game winning goal at 12:02 with assists from his linemates, Todd and Warywoda.

Smiths Falls’ victory was in no doubt helped out by Ryan’s big night as he stopped 32 of the 36 shots he faced. On the other hand, Ryan’s counterpart, Ward, and Ottawa’s defense did not have such a great night stopping only 22 of 27 shots.

This win brings the Smiths Falls Bears’ record to (2-0-0-0).
