Game 2 of the CCHL Showcase was played in early September but at times had the intensity of a playoff game. The Hawks managed a 4-3 win which gave the locals a 1-1 record for the young season.
Veterans Alex DiCarlo & Hayden Hart scored as did 16 year old rookie defenceman Bruce Coltart. Coltart’s first of his carreer came in his first game while the Bears were on the powerplay.
Smiths Falls Bears Midget AAA graduate Kyle Renaud made his Bears debut. After a understandable nervous start, Renaud settled in and was solid in a losing effort.
