Ty Campbell voted 2022-23 CCHL Top Prospect

The Smiths Falls Bears are pleased to announce that defenseman Ty Campbell has been voted the 2022-23 Top Prospect Award recipient, winning the honour for the second straight season.

In his second season in the CCHL, the 2005 born Nepean, ON native set career highs in Goals (7), Assists (23), and Points (30), in 49 games of action. He also earned a spot on Canada East at the World Junior A Challenge, helping his team to a Silver Medal.

“Since arriving in the CCHL Ty has become one of its best Defenseman,” said Bears Head Coach Pat Malloy. “He continues to grow and develop his game with his consistency and willingness to improve. The Clarkson University Commit is featured on the NHL Central Scouting watch list and is eligible for the 2023 NHL draft.”

Prior to his time in the CCHL, Campbell, who was drafted by the Bears in the 2020 Bantam Protected Draft, played one season with the Bears U18 AAA club and came up through the Ottawa Myers AAA hockey program.
